now im trying to find some cheaper variants of vq30de from A32. And find more info about it! And to get a sponsor ))) About weight I want to do FRP hood and front quarterpanels. I can do hood about 4-5kg and wings about 0.6-1kg and it would be about 1000$ with painting (its real expencive if u read the hole story u can remember that the first price of my car was 2500)))

Im still thinking about some extra-ordynary tuning for my CA18DE (already had one - SUNPULSE - its really works. Grandfather of HOT INAZMA http://www.sun-auto.co.jp/english/english_html/pro_02/inazma_pulse.html )

U can see it on that photo near battary

For now it would be Ionizer ))))

Why u all loves turbo ??? This is a cheating gain of HP ! And if I goes to the darkside - there is no fun its too easy!
Take all or nothig - there is the question. Or I stay in my second class with my CA18DE - and build them to the "skys the limit" (but for now I dont want to open my block only custom head work and mainfold, and if I find camshafts)
Or I plays for all - and goes vq30de

what u think ?

Ample reason for turbo loving right there.

you have a point it is easy power i  like big N/A power to but there is a fortune to be spent on getting big power from a small N/A engine thats why the turbo route is taken but if you have money and time what the hell go for it dude you cant beat the sound of a high revving 4 pot N/A screamer

it already screams )))

I never find rpm limiter on 8500 !?!?!?!?! a few times i goes 8600-8800Star  and where is the limit ?

If it goes crazy N\A style for the first Im going to take of the head:

port n polish сhannels, and intake mainfold, then make bigger hole for RB20 TB

polish valves and change seals on it, change all gaskets and seals in the head

do weight reduction and balancing to my flywheel

then put all thet stuff together

maybe put in 264-270 8.9 camshafts if I find one.

what do u think about that set up ? and what will be the HP gain prognoses?

Also note that im already jumped from 131hp - to around 155hp a think that gain comes from exhaust, apexi pod, balanced crankshaft, and new injector keys

I agree with you N/A is harder work but so much better than easy turbo route.  What about a DET plenum and throttle body?  JUN cams are always a good option too.  Exspensive though. That should help towards your horsepower gains.  I think around the 200 bhp mark would be possible with all the work you suggested.Big smile
