Hiiiiiii there,

i'm a regular on the AOC as i had and modded an almera for 3 years but it started dying of rust, so naturally i looked for an older  version :P and bought my import pulsar 1.8 automatic off martyn  at vss irvine in January! Used to own  both an sr and a GTi before the almera and had to have another...

so, after i picked it up i fitted my white rota slips and it looked like  this,  it's on 60k miles and been  nursed as it's automatic forever, only imported 4years ago so its cleaeeeeeeeen underneath too...

then added a GTi-R spoiler and bumper (which is probably being removed again soon for original GTi kit)

Then i had an itch that just wasn't gonna be satisfied until i rectified it, despite people telling me not to....so it got sprayed and had my corbeau buckets and momo wheel fitted...

then the wheels went black and some d2 coilovers were fitted along with orange indicators....

All the time while this was happenin i had the engine that was supposed to be going in my almera in the pipe line to be fitted to this, but being an auto box wasn't much use for a proper engine so i set about makin it manual!!  scary shit for a n00b who had only done a few oil changes and a cam swap once lol

after loads of research, what little i could find, a guy in new zealand who did the exact swap told me everythin about using n15 manual parts (off the almera) to convert the n14 to manual. This included the gearbox, clutch pedal box, linkages, everything really...so out came the engine for the swap...

after some wiring headaches it came back to life, now using an n15 JDM highport ecu lol

MANUAL w0000p

next came my lovely custom 3" mandrel bent cat back system...

and most recently i painted the rims bronze which is nearly perfect cosmetics for me now, bar wanting the std GTi kit back on.

Next up is the engine, i'm using an n15 sr20 bottom end with an sr16ve head, i have almost everything for the build just waiting on headgasket and clutch n stuff before i go ahead

rough spec will be

16ve head
n1 cams
CP 12.5:1 c/r forged  pistons
acl race bearings all round
powerland 4-1 header
3" mandrel catback
hks filter

blah blah, i'll add a full spec when it's all in and with pics :D

VVL soon, watch this space lol....

Wow Craig, what a fantastic job you've done on her so far Clap

I love the N14 in the original colour, but white tops it without a doubt mate - top stuff Rockon

Would love to see her at a meet sometime.

Keep us updated on your progress with this little beauty. How good would it be to see yours and Elliot's white N14's rubbing wing mirrors Drool  It's got to be done.

Welcome to the club by the way Thumbs Up

(small matter of taste here, I preferred her with the white wheels and clear repeaters mate. Cleaner look imo, but that's just my preference. Fab car!)

cheers mate, yeh it's come a fair old way in 7 months lol

well i'm not actually using a proper 20ve, its fairly new territory at least in the UK anyway in that it's a UK almera gti 2litre bottom end with a 16ve head and external oil feed for the cam switchin action!!

so effectively a 20ve, with the n1 cams, high compression and other mods i hope to get anywhere over 180whp or 210+ bhp, theoretically if all goes well and i build it right some people have mentione the magic 200whp to me, ie. 240odd bhp, but i don't wanna tempt fate and not make the numbers lol
